May 29th to June 2nd,  House of Africa, Office of the Historian of Havana

Objectives

To demonstrate the validity of the pedagogical legacy of the Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro Ruz through his meetings with prominent figures of progressive American sectors such as Afro-American leader Malcom X and Reverend Lucius Walker, leader of the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization (IFCO) Pastors for Peace. Through the analysis of Fidel´s discourse in his interaction with both American social leaders, to carry out a collective reading of its subsequent meaning for Cuba and the rest of the world, as well as for the new leaders that have emerged in more than six decades of struggle for racial justice in the United States, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. To call attention and make proposals based on the significance of including this pedagogical legacy in the university curriculum with a transdisciplinary approach. Discourse analysis, commented readings, projection and discussion of audiovisuals will be held in groups. Virtual interaction with other specialists might be possible.
